Hudson Bay is the one place on earth where polar bears gather in large numbers, and where they can be photographed with relative ease.

The best way to experience this part of the Arctic is to make the wilderness your home, and that's just what we'll do.  The Arctic wilderness begins right outside the lodge that will be our base, and so do the photographic opportunities.  Polar bears, snowy owls, arctic foxes and caribou are often seen close to the lodge.  On clear nights, the Aurora lights up the tundra.  The lodge is also famous for its gourmet meals, so we'll have the best of both worlds--great photography, comfortable lodging and incredible food.

There are plenty of polar bear tours out there, but this is one of the few places where photographers can photograph these carnivores from ground level.  Yes, we'll often be on foot with the bears, giving us photographic possibilities that are impossible from a tundra vehicle.  Should the bears prove too curious, we'll simply step inside our Tundra Trekker and shoot from there.

We'll spend five days in the field, the domain of the ice bear.  Instruction will focus on how best to capture the magic of the Arctic as the nights get longer.  There will be two instructors with the group, willing to help at any time, as well as a  naturalist/guide.
